Scuba Santas is an annual World record holding event held each year and organised by Lloyd Watkin and members of the Yorkshire Divers diving club. The official website of scuba santas is http://www.scuba-santas.co.uk. The 5th annual event in 2011 will be held at the National Diving and Activity Centre (NDAC), near Chepstow where we will hope to break our own world record, and raise funds for the RNLI.

Don’t forget to look us up on Twitter, facebook, youtube for more fun and information.

Scuba Santas 2010 postponed until 9th January 2011

Unfortunately due to the current bad weather we are going to have to postpone the event until the 9th January 2011.

With the heavy snowfall overnight and freezing conditions for the evening of the 18th December the Met Office have released weather warnings for the South West and advised people not to drive unless necessary. We are Scuba Santas feel that in the interest of safety (in getting to/from) the event its is better to postpone the event until the weather (and more importantly safety factor) improves.

Vobster Quay will still be open however and if you wish to dive they will be happy to receive you.

The programme for Scuba Santas 2010 will remain the same but the fund raising will be extended and the prize draw will now take place after the 9th January 2011.

We hope to still see you at the event on 9th January 2011, there’s still goody bags, diving prizes, and still a world record to aim for!

Merry Christmas, Lloyd.

If you have any questions in the meantime please feel free to contact us. Additionally please pass this message on to anyone you know who was looking to attend Scuba Santas 2010.

Newsletter August 2010

Hi everyone,
A quick update as we’re still a good while away. We currently have 20 divers registered for Scuba Santas 2010 via the site twitter, or via the website. Merry Christmas, Lloyd Scuba Santas Organiser” target=”_blank”>http://event.scuba-santas.co.uk, which for this far out is a good number (remember we need to beat 158 for a new WORLD RECORD!).
Registration for the event is not required but it certainly makes our administration much easier on the day. On top of that it will help the event gain more corporate sponsorship if we can demonstrate a good attendance.
The best place for event news is either via the website http://www.scuba-santas.co.uk, or via our twitter feed http://www.twitter.com/scubasantas. Please link to us via your website!
This year we’re hoping to get some momentos of the day starting with t-shirts, this is dependent on getting corporate sponsorship. Emails will be going out to businesses soon and I’ll pass the email to attendees also so they can all spread the word.
The target for sponsorship is £15,000 for crew training @ the RNLI. Given the growth from previous years this is entirely possible. Our justgiving page is up at http://www.justgiving.com/scubasantas2010, and we’ll get some sponsorship forms out fairly soon.
In the mean time do not hesitate to get in touch via facebook, twitter, or via the website.
Merry Christmas,
Lloyd
