Scuba Santas 2011 – Registration now open…

Planning for Scuba Santas 2011 is now fully underway. Registration is now open and you can register by clicking on the text below. This year Scuba Santas has made the short leap up to the NDAC near Chepstow and we’re looking at a bigger and better event this year!

Narrowly missing out on breaking our own world record at the 2010 event we’re back with much excitement about our new venue with lots of new ideas. We’ve already secured sponsorship from at least 3 big names in the diving industry and we’re looking to grow that number before the event takes place.

Registraion will ensure that you’ll receive our newsletter and be kept up to date with any important news about the event. Registration for Scuba Santas is not required but helps us out in planning the event.

World Record Holders

In 2009, Scuba Santas once again beat their own world record with 158 divers. This was not beaten in 2010 due to several reasons but we’re hoping to extend our record once again in 2011. We hope you can join us and be part of what many divers refer to as “the best dive of the year” at our new home (NDAC, near Chepstow).

Welcome to Scuba Santas!

Scuba Santas is organised by Lloyd Watkin with help from members of the UK diving forum called Yorkshire Divers. Each year around Christmas time we dress up in santa costumes to raise money for a charity.

In 2007 we raised a few hundred pounds for the RNLI with 8 participating santas, a viking, a snowman, and a fairy. Last year we have at least 5 times the numbers and each day the list grows! The next event will be held at an inland dive site called National Diving and Activity Centre near Chapstow.

We will be diving in Santa outfits and, if we get the go-ahead, will be aiming to break the world record for the largest number of simultaneous scuba diving father christmas’ at one time!

Not only is this a great advert for British scuba diving, it provides much needed funds for the volunteer life savers at Christmas, and despite the freezing temperatures puts a smile on some otherwise very grumpy people’s faces! Again this year it has been decided by members of YD to support the RNLI for all the good work they do each and every day of the year…

If you want to join the Scuba Santas please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
